Family Ties

Last weekend found Brent and me in Washington D.C. - well, sort of.  We were actually in Pasadena and Glen Burnie, and Baltimore but we flew in and out of D.C.   Sean and Linzy were having their fourth child (our tenth grandchild) blessed on Sunday and we felt very fortunate to be able to fly there for the blessing.    Dan came, too, as did Brent's parents Leo and Edna, and Linzy's mother Norma Wood.

Norma recently went to the temple and had her husband, Linzy's father, who died a few years ago, sealed to her.   So while she was in DC for the blessing, they decided to take advantage of the access to the DC temple and have Linzy sealed to her parents there.   Sean flew in from Florida ready to go, and they invited us to come to the temple with them.

The Washington DC temple is beautiful.  It commands the skyline from the freeway headed south and it was great to be able to enter through its doors and feel the calming peace that emanates from within.  It was especially touching to witness the sealing ceremony and to see this dream of Linzy's come true.

Washington DC Temple from I-495.  You drive around a bend in the freeway and there it is, shining above the trees simply beautiful!

It was so fun having Dan join us there, too.

Sean loving being with his family again.

Two beautiful women, Linzy and her mother Norma Wood, following the temple sealing of Linzy to her mother and her father.
Sunday was little Sean's blessing day.  No, I didn't get any pictures of him in his outfit because he wet them very well.   No, I didn't get any pictures of the gathering following the block of meetings.  And most of the pictures I did get turned out such poor quality I simply deleted them.  However, here are a few images from the day.

Little Sean is absolutely adorable.  A very smart little guy, too, I might add.   Sean gave him the blessing.  Standing in the circle with Sean (Sr) were his father (Brent), grandfather (Leo), and brother Dan, as well as a few others from the ward whom he had invited.  It was a sweet blessing.

And here are a few pictures from this second day:  my camera started acting up, however (some idiot had changed the settings ... can't imagine who since I'm the only one doing anything with it), so I didn't get many pictures decent enough to post here.  But a few kind of turned out so here you go:

Sean in his blessing outfit and the white blanket crocheted by Linzy's grandmother (I believe).

Four generations of Loveridges.

I posted some other pictures on Facebook, too.  You can access them by clicking here.
We immediately fell in love with our newest grandson.  He is absolutely precious.  And it was so fun to be with the other children for a little while.  They're all growing up, in spite of the fact that in my mind they continue to remain a few years younger than they do in reality.

Love the one of him snuggeled up in the blanket.

What a wonderful weekend visit. Must have been amazing for Linzy to bless her little guy and be sealed to her parents all in one weekend, and with so much family there to share in the celebration. Sorry the camera gave you trouble. I know how frustrating it is to not get the pictures you hoped to get, but I am sure the memories are stronger and brighter than the pictures could have ever been anyway.
