The end of one year and the beginning of the next, we get to celebrate two birthdays in our families: The first is for Eric who turned TWO years old this year (well, technically last year) on New Year's Eve! And the second was for Edna who was born 85 years earlier than Jack and turned 87 beautiful years old this year.
I know Tonya is going to post Eric's birthday pictures very soon and I don't want to take away from her post in any way, so I'm only posting a few of my most favorite pictures of his birthday.
Eric is Two!
One would think Christmas has come twice to this house - and both days were filled with gifts that moved - cars, trains, and airplanes. This little guy loves them all!
I love the Allen tradition of making a ring around the birthday person and everyone holding hands as they sing Happy Birthday. Eric's done it enough that he knew what it was about this year and was definitely ready for his "Happy Day" as he called it.
The cake was adorable with fondant that looked just like and extension of the very cute airplane that landed on top of it. Great job, Tonya! I'm counting on you posting a better photo of the cake. It kind of got lost in these photos.
And then a week later, we got to celebrate 87 with Brent's mom.
Edna's Birthday

Stephanie made a great Texas Cake - although it wasn't THE Texas Cake (which I know came from Kathy, and she swears the recipe originally came from me) - it was very yummy and we all had a great time gathering for a very intimate Happy Birthday at Edna's home that Sunday evening of her birthday.

Grandma gets her wish! We all hope it was for another 87 years, but she's not saying.

It's hard to tell, but this little one had the cutest dirtiest face ever after she shared the ice cream and cake - which she decided is definitely better than cooked carrots!

So a big Happy Birthday to both Eric and Edna! We love you both and are so lucky to have you as part of our family!

This is a little late, but just saw your birthday blog. So guess I'll have to wish you both a happy belated birthday! Hope it was great & lasts all year! Looks like you both had a great time!
Happy Birthday all around! Two years sure goes fast, doesn't it? I bet when we look back from 87 we will find that those years went quickly as well. Looks like you celebrated well.
Fun birthday celebrations. Darling cake Tonya!
