Because...

Because

we were busy taking these:

 And these:

And spending some long overdue time with these:

We were missing out on this:

(Photo I shamelessly stole from Makinzee's blog - thanks Makinzee!)

Ninja Turtle Cake for an early birthday celebration for our grandson Jack, who turned 7 officially on Monday but since he had a game on Monday, the family chose to celebrate it on Sunday evening.  We missed out on it.  Sounds like a fun gathering!

But we kind of made up for it (just kind of,  because once you miss the birthday song and the blow out the candles part of the celebration, you've just really missed it, right?) by going to his game on Monday night and watching his team sing Happy Birthday to him, and giving him birthday hugs and birthday gifts and seeing him put his new bat that he got from his other grandparents to great use.

During which time the sisters were busy being tomboys, climbing the trees and showing off for the camera.  Do you remember climbing trees?   I do - some very similar to these where the branches were spaced exactly right to get to the tops....

And Jack's elbow itched as he played second base.  Because there isn't much else to do during this league's very long games with very little action, except practice catch with rocks outfield, and scratch where it itch's (which the big league guys do on TV all the time, only it isn't an elbow...)

Lilly is walking all over now.  No more strollers for this gal - she is busy on the move, toddling around the spectator boxes looking for someone and no one at the same time.

... And the game went on, and Jack swung hard in warm ups.
His team won.
It was a fun game to watch.
At least for some of us.
Someone else had fun playing scrabble with her Grandma Tiffany's phone.

It was late when we dropped Mike and Jack off at the house.  But Makinzee decided it was ok if Jack opened one more gift - the one from us.

So here's Jack, meeting Mickey.   Figured it was about time this son of "Mickey" had his own Mickey Mouse.  I think he liked it.

Happy Birthday, Jack!

Oh my goodness... the photos are absolutely beautiful. She was such a precious bride. And Grandma looks amazing! I didn't realize Grandpa was in a wheel chair? :( I need to make a trip to see them. Are there any plans for a family reunion this summer?

Grandpa wasn't really in a wheelchair. I should have made note of that. It was just easier to use one with all the walking we had to do. And he seemed perfectly happy to stay in it for the pictures.

The one plus to taking wedding photos is you always have a beautiful subject! Don't brides just glow? Kim was gorgeous and Kade was just downright handsome. A wonderful couple!

You did a fantastic job with the wedding photos, and there are some pretty fab ones at the baseball game as well. How cute is Lilly with the big blue eyes and green bow!

The wedding shots are great. I think you did a great job even tho you say you didn't have the right lighting or lenses at teh reception. Kim looks so grown up...where has the time gone, she use to love to come to Boise and play with Maddy. It really wasn't that long ago!

Jack loved having you at the game! His cake was good and we ate it for a week! He's still getting presents a week later. Thanks for coming to the game and for the cute pictures of the kids at the game. I'm afraid that ball field is where we'll be at the rest of spring and prob into summer.
