The second hunt was over at the neighborhood clubhouse. It was an activity sponsored by the ward, and, get this, it started AFTER DARK. The kids all brought flashlights (Kamryn thought that was the best part) and looked for the eggs with them. It was way fun!
It took a little extra effort to find those pastel gems hiding in the dark! But it was worth it!
Kamryn paused for about two seconds so I could get this family shot. Of course, she was still playing with the flashlight. Later she kept holding it to her eye. Or dropping it in her bucket. Or hitting Grandpa on the head with it. You know, typical toddler stuff. Look carefully - the light in the background belongs to Brent, videotaping the whole thing.
After the egg hunt, we all returned to Bill and Stephanie's for something else that was fun. Can you guess what Kamryn and Henry are watching?
Ah, ha! Bill was lighting Brent's cake (yes, we stole Makinzee's idea of using one color to represent 10 yrs and a different one for the one year - didn't want to set off the smoke alarm, after all). Almost a week later, but that's okay. Kamryn decided she wanted to be on Grandpa's lap.
Because she wanted to help blow out the candles, too. On the count of one, two, and three - blow! He gets his wish! It was a fun night. Here are a few other pictures - thanks to Bill and Stephanie for hosting this party. Dan was there for a minute, but I didn't get a picture of him. :(
