You May Think This Is A Post About Tonya ...

But Guess Again...

Oh, yeah, it was Tonya's birthday party (the day after).
It was at Tonya's house.
And we did have cake and ice cream, er ice cream cake...
But any resemblance of a party for Tonya ended right there.

Who's cake?
I mean really, when there are grandkids around, honestly, it's all about the kids.

Ok, cut the kid some slack.  She did look out for her baby cousin.  She even found every stuffed animal he owned and brought both of them to the table for him to play with.  Is that just cute?

Of course, there quite possibly may have been some ulterior motives in that....  You think?

Now here's little Karsyn, sweet little, quiet little, cute little Karsyn - never make a fuss, play-just-fine-by-herself-with-whatever-Kamryn-graciously-leaves-for-her-to-play-with baby Karsyn.  It's just good there is not sound with this picture.  A magic button got pushed the second her daddy picked up Eric.  The very second.  What you do not hear are the sobs,

the screams!

the desperately, beggingly, pathetically sad cries...

...fighting Mommy to get to Daddy ...(dare I say tantrums?  she isn't even close to two yrs. yet)

There may be ulterior motives here, too.  I mean, can you imagine the threat a baby boy in a house full of girls could be?  But it wasn't even, "Ok, Dad, for a minute you can play with him if you want, but you DO NOT get to bring him home."  Oh, no.  It was immediate.  YOU MAY NOT TOUCH THAT BABY DAD!  NOT WHILE I'M STILL ALIVE!

And I know you will not believe her peculiar fight against the baby, not in a million years.  Not our sweet little baby Karsyn!  She would not even allow this grandma to get proof of the tears.  Because the crying switched to smiles the minute she saw me trying to take pictures of the crying....

But I promise, that's where she was on Saturday.
(See, I told you that you that you only thought you knew what the blog was about....)

"Hey, everyone, why all the fuss???????"

By the way, Happy Birthday, Tonya!  It was so fun to get together and celebrate it!

Thank you for posting these, and thank you for the party. It was so much fun.

I don't blame her...a party for someone else and a new baby stealing daddy's attention. The nerve! I am tempted to believe she even knew exactly what she was doing since she flashed that big beautiful smile for the camera. Those are some cute grandbabies though.

(Julie, Stephanie was tickling her at the time she smiled - but we can keep that secret. I do have beautiful grandbabies, I totally agree. However, I have some grand nieces and nephews that are pretty cute, too. Can I say they all get it from me?)

WE are working on Kamryn's obsession of birthdays- and her need to blow out candles/open gifts etc. Sorry if she tried to steal the show! She must think of birthdays constantly- she is already planning her "Hawaiin Party" for her birthday- complete with pineapple decorations. Surely it will change before July! But a Hawaiin Party doesn't sound too bad about now! Only if it brought good weather with it.

OH and Karsyn is very good and stopping everything she is doing when she sees the camera and saying "cheese" even mid-tantrum or being tickled!

Oh, Stephanie, I really hope you heard the laughter in my voice in every single thing I wrote on this blog. WE LOVE YOUR KIDS like they were, well, our GRANDKIDS! And we love the way they love birthday candles and cakes and celebrations and having their pictures taken! I just thought it was all great fun, and so did Tonya. One day Kamryn isn't going to want to do that, and then it will be very very very sad! But then it will be Karsyn's turn. They all go through it. And we love them all the more for it.

BYW, we will be in town for Kamryn's party and I think an Hawaiian theme would be just wonderful! I hope she doesn't change it.

That's too funny! Emma is 15 months today and she throws THE hugest tantrums!! Which is a perfect word for those fits. I think she looks a lot like Emma!!

Thank you for spelling "hawaiian" correctly! I looked at it and knew it wasn't right but just couldn't get it to look right no matter what I did. I gave up- without using spell check!
I did hear the laughter in your voice and I know how much your love your grandkids. That girl would blow out candles daily if I provided the cake and the fire!
Very excited to have you here for her birthday- she notices those things even at her young age! AND again...she planned her "hawaiian" party out tonight before bed! You won't want to miss it!:)

Haha, weren't we just talking about cakes and blowing out candles only to read your blog! Despite the extra blow germs on the cake, looks like a fabulous time. I guess we got the D bug at the kids fair the night before, a friend's daughter also got it. At least it was only 1 and not 3. It was a rough day. Happy birthday Tonya
