Rerun

Mike and Makinzee wanted to take their troop on another hike and after seeing my post about Cascade Springs decided that might be perfect.  Only problem is really the only way to get to the spot was along a very narrow, very winding road up over the Alpine Loop.  Oops.  Forgot to warn Kinzee about that little detail.  Didn't know she suffered from motion sickness.  It was NO FUN for her.

Knowing the sacrifices she made to get their family there, it made the time at the Springs maybe a little more precious.  Guess I should preface my recommendations of Cascade Springs with "it's a great place to go IF you don't get carsick."   I don't get carsick, but have to admit I have a love/hate relationship with that road!  There are always bicyclists coming fast on the downhill side for them and yesterday seemed to be "the" day for the world to hike the mountain and cars were parked all over the place where they weren't supposed to be parked so the already narrow road became a literal one-way only pass in many sections.  

But we loved going there with them.  Being at the springs with willing posers was fun, too.  Maddy figured out a couple of years ago that as long as people were going to take her picture, she was going to turn it into a modeling session.  Now Jack's figuring it out, too.  And every bug Jack found, he also insisted we take a picture of.  Ha,ha,ha.  Afterwards we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls to have a picnic lunch in the shade.  It was a hot day, and the shade felt great!

From where I was, I couldn't tell what they were chasing but they were after something.  Turned out to be grasshoppers.

The next -     Of course, any time you have a two-yr-old on board, there are bound to be tantrums.
