Reunion - Yellowstone Style

I just posted about all the photos I took of the weekend reunion with my side of the family.  We stayed at my Uncle's cabin in Island Park - well the majority of the family stayed there.  Brent and I were snobs and voted to sleep at the condo in West Yellowstone which was about 40 minutes from the Island Park cabin, so we spent the entire weekend driving and hardly spending any time with the family at all.

But we had a good time, too.  Don't get me wrong.  And we weren't being snobs intentionally.  When we reserved the condo, we figured the cabin would be overflowing and it would be a good thing to have the additional beds.  Turned out we probably didn't need them, but at least we had a private room for what it was worth.

Brent got off work early on Friday.  I had taken the day off and stayed home to mow the lawn which hadn't been mowed in a month.  That and get laundry done and packing started, etc.   I've decided it probably is not good to go on a vacation five days after returning from one.
Lots of food, lots of family, and lots of love = lots of fun!  We had a great time.

We ended up having a great time.  We had dinner with the family Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning.  Then we took off for the Park and spent most of Saturday driving.  Brent was sure he was going to find a bear.  Right.

No bear.  No wolves.  No moose.  Just a coyote and a dead antelope.  Lots and lots of buffalo.  And that was about it. Oh, and the bull elk that caused a huge traffic jam slowing our exit from the Park.  Brent got to use his 400 lens and was happy.

We went back to the Island Park cabin to have dinner with the family and then returned to the condo (TB), and went to church in West Yellowstone the next morning before going back to the cabin on our way home.  I think I loved Sunday with the family most of all.  Brent got a good nap and the rest of us just visited and visited.

I really did post all the photos on Facebook so you're going to have to click HERE to see most of them.  Thanks Arnie and Vicki for a great weekend!
