Running Home and Hand Stands

This is my final "rewind" post.  Not that I'm caught up (I'm not.   I keep getting further and further behind),  but just that I'm through rewinding.  Next post we'll hit Yellowstone.  But wanted to post a few gems we got to share with Mike's family the end of May and first week in June before leaving on vacation.  We had lots going on but didn't want to miss out on the final games and tumbling review.

Lexi - Tee Ball
Lexi's games, it seemed, came on nights we always had other things going, so we missed out on them.  We made an extra effort to get to her final couple of games and loved the enthusiasm and joy she shared in them.

Yes, tee ball without a tee.  First the kids get to try to hit a coach pitched ball.  If they miss three tries, then they get to hit it off a tee.

Everyone bats and everyone runs and everyone crosses home plate - and no one keeps score.  That's what baseball is all about - having fun!

It was fun to watch Lexi play.  She loves the games!

Jack - Baseball

Love the protection the chain link affords - but it definitely makes it hard to take pictures!
Jack moved into regular baseball this year - tee ball, for him, may no longer even be a memory, and coach pitch is far behind.  We made it to a couple of his first games of the season, and then didn't get back until this night.   I was so impressed with the improvement his entire team had made.  They were playing like young men years older than them.  It was impressive to see the difference all that practice made!

Sliding Home!

Lexi's Blue Eyes
Jack loves all ball, and it shows in his sportsmanship.  He plays hard and is always involved in the games.   You did a great job this year, Jack!   Basketball is just around the corner.

Brent made it to an earlier game of Maddy's, but this hot Saturday morning was my first opportunity (and last) opportunity to come watch her this year.   She is involved in so many things, she amazes me.  And doing well with every one of them!

She hit the ball and made it to First, then Second, and then Third!

Mike manages to know all the kid's coaches pretty well.

As I said, Maddy has been involved in a lot of things this year.   Tumbling was just one of the various activities that have kept her on the go.

Maddy's the one curled up in front with the cute braided hair.

Splits - almost.  I could never, ever do splits!

Receiving her End-of-Season Medallion
Lots and lots of tumblers
Maddy did a great job and I am so impressed with all she's doing.  She's also taking piano lessons and sang with an early morning choir at the school.

It was a busy week, squeezing in all the activities.  Still not sure how Makinzee managed because this was life for her for several months.   But it was a great opportunity, too. I say this over and over, but I really mean it - I am constantly grateful to have kids and grandkids close enough to be a little part of their lives.  Miss that so much with our Baltimore grandkids.

Everyone needs to take about a month off of all extra curricular activities so we can all catch up on our blogs. Maddy really is keeping busy. I have one little one who really wants to try gymnastics but I am not ready to add another sport and not ready to give up one of the ones we are already doing.

We love being close to family. In fact my kids do not even remember NOT ever living by family. Maddy only remembers a little bit about Idaho, we did leave when she was 5 which is how old Lexi is now. Thank you for the all the support and love!
