Only seven and a half months until I reach that milestone of being a sexagenarian. My husband is getting excited ... but hold onto your hat, dear man. Only means I'm entering the same decade you entered YEARS! ago.
Anyway, the scary thing is that when I set those goals posted on the right side of this blog so long ago, it seemed like a very doable thing to complete at least most of them. But if you look, there aren't a lot marked "Done" yet. That means I'm falling way behind.
Time to buck up, roll up my sleeves, and do some real HARD WORK! I can still do most of them. I just need to decide which are the most important and concentrate on them, and not worry if I can't get to them all, right?
There was a talk in church a few weeks ago. Can't remember who was speaking right now, but I did jot down these notes. And this morning I put them together into this little poster for myself:
It's just a little reminder that even if we've already blown every New Year's Resolution, already goofed up our best intentions, and killed our will power before we even got to the breakfast table, that doesn't mean we have to stop trying. New goals, new will, renewed strength - there isn't a thing we can't accomplish if we can just roll up our sleeves and go for it. But goals do have to be all of the above - including realistic. I'm guessing climbing to the top of Mt. Timpanogos before I turn 60 may not be realistic. But walking 600 miles still is.

You may not finish all of them but there are some DONE's over there on your list. I bet you can still finish a handful and the rest will have to transfer to your before 70 list.
