Family Tree 2014

Annual Hansen Reunion

Rupert, Idaho

I was born a HANSEN.

And this is how we do reunions:

We EAT...

Our annual Hansen reunion this year landed us in Rupert, under the shade of the big birch tree in Connie's yard, in the country.   Susie and I were in charge of lunch.  So I was running around trying to make sure everything got set out to feed the hungry Hansen clan and didn't take photos.  Thank you, Connie, for capturing a few of these early portions of the reunion.

We SPLASH!!!

After lunch, in spite of cold water, the swimming pool was perfect for all the little ones.   Renewing friendships and making new friends with second cousins was a great plus for all the kids.

 We PLAY GAMES!

And we play MORE GAMES....
  - FLYING TOILET PAPER ROLLS

and some of us definitely TAKE PICTURES!

and we definitely LAUGH!

And we play even MORE GAMES
                                                                   and take even MORE PICTURES!

Who can get the tallest head of shaving cream?????

Time to clean up!

But most of all,
we just love BEING TOGETHER!
My wonderful mother
My wonderful father
My son, Mike
Hauling her chair over to join the rest of the clan under the shade of the big tree.

And, of course, EATING ANOTHER MEAL!

At the end of the day, there's a chance for a little more fun, a little more sharing, and a little more giving.
Jack was given this award for having the tallest shaving cream hair.  No, it isn't what you think.   It's actually a poor man's bird feeder.  He was so proud of it, he promptly put it in his mother's flower garden in the front yard when he got home.
To the tune of "Book of Mormon Stories" the family song was updated with a backdrop of wide open country and a sky that wouldn't quit.
 Until next year ....

(Oh, and of course, I took more photos than were reasonable.  To see others from the day, be sure to check out this link to my Facebook album with the rest of the photos:   Hansen Reunion 2014

Wish I could have been there too. It has been far too long since I have been able to make it to a family reunion!

I am trying to figure out what exactly is going on in some of those games, but whatever it was, it looks like everyone is having fun.

It was a riot. Love the theme--even tho I didn't know that was the theme til the end. It was fun from start to finish--glad I got talked into coming! Memories and fun to be had for sure.
