The first races were the ducky races. The littlest ones each received a rubber ducky with his/her name on the bottom. When Dr. Gibby said "GO!" they were supposed to release their duck, and not a minute before...
Whoa!!!! One ducky got away! (This is, for those of you who don't know him, my boss, Dr. Gibby, chasing through the stream to rescue the errant quacker.)
At the finish line Tammy jumped in to help rescue the little ducks and return them to their rightful owners.
Second heat - they're off. Now, quick, run along the bank after them!
Smile, Brent, p-l-e-a-s-e!!! We didn't race anything, but had a great time watching the racers. Someone has to be in the audience, after all!
Now it's the big people's turn. Our rule was to make a boat, or a raft, or a downed rocket, whatever we decide. The only rule was that it was supposed to constructed with x-ray film and empty syringes. I think there were a few who kind of forgot that rule (as in the aluminum foil ball bobbing along with the rest of the water crafts). First heat is off and running!
....and right after them came the owners, chasing after their boats. Brent and I had to leave early. I'm not sure who ended up with the prizes for this race, but I do know it was a fun evening. Thanks to Barb and Julie W. and everyone else who worked hard to put together the party! It's always so fun to get together and meet the families and play a little (I know, Dr. Gibby's always accusing us of playing a little too much ... but this one was on him!). Riverwoods Imaging Center is as great a place to work as it is to get imaging done. And it really is a great place to get Imaging done, so that tells you what a great place it is to work!
