From Tip a Cop to Last Baseball Game and everything in between.

With everything else going on, I've missed a few things on this blog.  Here's a photo tour - because I don't have time to write the thousand words!

First off, clear back on May 13, 2013, Bill did the "Tip-a-Cop" at Texas Roadhouse, and we got to go with Stephanie and the kids.  Leo and Edna joined us.  It was a fun night.  And Grandma had her phone with her so there were a couple of photos:

Our personal server, in uniform and with a smile!

Karsyn - take a picture of my big eyes, grandma!

Leo and Ashlyn

You saw the photos of Ashlyn's cast posted about four posts ago (Pink).  Well, the day after we returned from Yellowstone, Eric fell down some stairs and caught his arm just wrong enough to break it, too.  So I've got two grandchildren currently in casts.   I'll post a photo of them together when I get them processed, but for now, here's a couple of Eric the day he got the cast.  That was about the only time he ever wore the sling.

Eric's Cast

Brent and Luke bonding time

I carry my camera with me a lot right now.  Most of the time, I just carry it.  But sometimes I luck out to be at the right place at the right time.  Coming home from work one night the clouds and lighting just screamed for me to pull over and take photos:

I LOVE scenes that show perspective like this!
Then last week on the way to Tonya's for piano lessons, I passed a field in the same spot as above and saw a flock of big birds.  Upon closer inspection, I realized they were the turkey vultures that come through our area about once or twice a year for a few days.  I've tried in the past to photo them flying.  This time they stayed on the ground for me.

Jack played his last baseball game of the season last Tuesday night.  Brent and I raced up after Cub Scouts and got to see most of the game.  Jack finished the season as catcher, and did a great job.  We have had a lot of fun watching the kids as they are learning this sport step by step.   Last year it was tee ball and coach pitch.  This year it started out with machine pitch but by the end of the season it was all player pitch.  Averaging about two innings a game (90 min. games).

Jack at bat.  Umm, no he didn't swing at that one.

The fence around these fields is made of some of the heaviest gauge chain link I've ever seen.  Makes it a challenge to photograph through.   This is Jack in his catcher's gear.

Going after the one that got away.
Games Over.  Doesn't matter who wins, or who looses.  Or that this one ended in a tie.  When a boy eats, drinks, sleeps with his mitt, and just downright loves the game like this guy does, the end of the season comes with a little bit of sorrow.

But next year will come around again - after basketball, which he loves, too.   Jack's "toofleth" grin, red dust pants, and bat bag says it all.   It's been a great year!  Pretty good for the youngest player on the team.

Friday he had awards ceremony for baseball and was SO mad that he didn't get a trophy just a dog tag necklace. Several hours later he was fine, he never played to win just to have fun. My heart flittered in nerves as he got up to bat, I can only imagine my nerves with bigger and better things to come. Fun reminisce of photos from your camera. I pray the broken bone cousin curse stops there!
