bistro is, in its original Parisian incarnation, a small restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting.
boutique, from the French word for "shop," is a small shopping outlet, especially one that specializes in elite and fashionable items such as clothing and jewelry.
And DEAR LIZZY's in Alpine, Utah, just happens to be BOTH. Tonya made arrangements for all of us to get together for a Lady's Luncheon to celebrate my birthday. And what better place than a shop filled with frills, and baubles and bangles and ruffles and lace; and topped off with great sandwiches to boot!
Edna and Stephanie came.
Tonya and Heather came.
We had a delightful lunch together, and then we browsed the shop which seems to have new surprises in every little corner.
Couldn't resist trying on those fun hats!
Now I know where to go to find that purple hat for when I am really old enough to wear it!
It was a very special, very fun time and I am so grateful for each of you who live close enough to take a minute from your very busy schedules to make it a special day for me!
