Catching Up - 2: Shakespeare Festival
Friday, July 15, 2011, Brent and I loaded up the car (never knew two people could haul so much gear in one small car!) and started on our 40th Anniversary "Second Honeymoon." We began the trip in Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival where we saw three of the shows (Romeo & Juliet, Noises Off, and Midsummer Night's Dream) as well as attending a Curtain Call lunch with three of the actors.
Anyone looking for a quick get-away and a very funny show - it would be worth the drive down there just to see Noises Off. I think I bruised my ribs, I laughed and laughed and laughed so hard. I also have it on very good authority that all the other shows were equally well done - with rave reviews on Music Man. Between lunch and the evening show on Friday, we did take a drive down to Kolob Canyon. We weren't exactly dressed to hike so we just enjoyed the beauty of the red rock against the blue sky.
Other photos (including these) from the Cedar City portion of the trip can be found by clicking here.

Looks like fun! Can't wait for the rest of the story. I know what you mean by so much stuff in a small car--last year we took the prius, a tent, 2 cots, cooler, camp stove, 2 sleeping bags, 2 4inch foam pads, towels, clothing (play and Sunday), food, pans, personal stuff--and had a BALL!! Hope you guys did too--wherever you went. It's always so nice to get away with just your husband when you can do whatever you want whenever you want!
LOVE the Shakesepare festival! I have read Noises Off and always wanted to see it. I am excited to see where else you went.
What gorgeous pictures! You've inspired Jason and I to get to the Shakespeare festival this year. And to the Grand Canyon... What a fantastic vacation!
Thank you for sharing your most wonderful vacation! It's almost like being there! Who needs to travel all over the world to see its beauty when there's so much to see right at our doorsteps that we haven't seen yet!
We've never been to the grand canyon or the Shakespear festial, but have been to Catalina Island a couple of times. That was part of our cruise, & Susie rented a car & drove us all over the island. That was very exciting! The go-cart, and the steep hills and the winding roads! Glad I wasn't doing the driving!
Sure glad you kids got to do this.
