In every vacation there has to be a day or two, I firmly believe, when you are allowed to kick off your shoes and just do something weird like, ummmm, relaxing?!?
Brent doesn't do relax very well.
So on our relax day, we spent three hours driving 20 miles and back (gotta love LA traffic) to go to the Griffeth Observatory to see the Hollywood sign. When we got there the parking lot was full and so was the road leading up to it (as in Hike UP) and we ended up parking about a mile down the road. So I actually even got some exercise in on this day. All the hype was simply so we could get this photo (Brent would never admit it but he really has his own compulsion for photography as well).

| So here we are with the Hollywood Sign behind us! Are you impressed? |
And he caught me looking like a movie star with my sunglasses on (hahaha). Oh, wait a minute. Movie Stars don't go around carrying cameras, do they? They like being on the other end of the lens!
That's okay. I caught him looking like a photographer with his camera on:

| (Actually, just wanted to show you his cute Mickey Mouse hat he got at Disneyland) |

We didn't get many photos at Griffeth Park (which is what we did on Friday, the 22nd), so I decided to skip ahead a few days and also include our hike to Stewart Falls with this post. Yeah, our final vacation day was supposed to be a relax day, too. Can't say much. It was my idea to do the hike. Right.

| Looking down towards Provo Canyon |
It was gorgeous. Everything was so so so so GREEN! (Especially in comparison with a very smoggy, dry, drought ridden California). Here are a few shots taken along the trail:
 |
| The ferns were incredible! Fields and fields of them. |
 |
| Even the hummingbirds were green! |
 |
| Stewart Falls - the Upper Portion. Right. Not green. But gorgeous anyway. |
Turned out to be a great way to end the vacation. The capper was spending the afternoon cooling off inside a movie theater to finally see the last episode of
Harry Potter. More photos of these days can be found by clicking
HERE.
Now, even though this was the last day of our vacation, I still haven't posted our Disneyland pictures so check back later, okay? Nothing spectacular but there are a few fun shots still to come.

Wow! Your Provo canyon vacation was certainly the most breathtaking of all! And Julie, you really do look like a glamorous movie star in those pictures. I'm sure enjoying all your pictures, even Brent's hat!
I love that you each have a camera around your neck. It looks like a fantastic vacation. I have never been to the Grand Canyon. Isn't that crazy?
I love your hummingbird shot!
Thanks, Mom and thanks, Julie. We got new cameras just for Grand Canyon - now that's crazy. But they've turned out to be quite useful for a lot of other things, too, so I guess we'll keep them.
