Go on and Celebrate!!!!

I love a parade! It was fun to attend Lehi's celebration parade this morning. We joined Stephanie and her family and friends on Bill's "corner".

We had the bright side of the street, right on the corner by where Brent grew up (see the rooftop in the upper right corner). So everyone was kind of squinting for this picture. Except Miss Independence. Kamryn figured she was smarter than looking straight into the sun to pose for Grandma.

This was the Twelfth Ward's entry this year. I thought it was kind of cute. The kids were kind of cute. The parents following were even kind of cute. Cute. In a masculine sort of way. (You can tell a guy designed it this year.)

Sunglasses make all the bright much more tolerable!

Kamryn's favorite float. I say that only because this was the one float we had to fight to keep her from following. What's strange is that she didn't even seem to care much about it while it was right in front of us.

Bill was on duty, blocking the intersection (Like he needed to: Hello-o-o - there were so many people lining the streets of this morning's parade they had already blocked the intersection long before the parade actually made its way down 100 East)and visiting with other officers following the parade route. Bill had the great privilege of once again taking up the rear at the end of the parade.

No, I don't have a clue who this kid is. I was just impressed with how high he could leap and thought the kids watching had cute expressions. This kind of stuff makes parades fun! And it was fun to be able to attend again this year.

In going to the parade, we limited our time in the kitchen. But Brent dug in and worked hard after we got home. This was a big step day! Forever, I've been saying the sink couldn't come out until we were really down to serious business on getting the rest of the project finished. Well, we are finally really down to serious business!

For a few years now, the house has had a musky dank smell. I've suspected it has come from the floorboards that were flooded several years ago. Well, actually I discovered another fresh leak today as I helped pull things out from under the sink. A deserted goldfish bowl was almost full of water (strategic placement, I'd say)- stale, smelly water. And there was that dreaded black mold with all its furry spores, daring us to control it. I had suspected that was part of the problem. Good old bleach killed it fast, though, and it's going out with the garbage when that wall, too, finally comes down on Monday. Tonight the house smells like bleach. That is a better smell than mildew and mold, I think.

There's a good reason why we're replacing the floor boards, too. This is worth celebrating, don't you agree?

Wow, that's really coming along. I missed watching the parade with you this year. I really need to remember to go to the Saturday morning parade. It's a much better one.
