As we've peeled off the most recent layer of linoleum in the kitchen, it feels like we're stepping back in time to the '70s, when all the guys were just little ones who were busy learning about life.
I really never grew tired of that old cobblestone design. It just grew tired of me, and too much living, I guess. I remember the day it was covered with flour from the twin's flour fight, and another day it became an indoor slip'n'slide with a brand new bottle of fragrant vanilla as the source of the slip!
It endured a lot, that old linoleum. And it probably should have been replaced a long time before it was. But now it's not just being covered up. It will go out with the rest of the floor, baseboards, and wallboard. And all that will be left will be the pictures and the memories. And that's exactly how change is supposed to be. Toss out the past and just relish the sweet memories as we move on into the future.

The kitchen is really coming along. It will be done before you know it. And thanks for the tip about putting scrapbook pages in page protectors. I'll use that one from now on. :)
