Day 15 - I-Pod? What's an I-pod?

30-Day Challenge;  Day 15 - Put your ipod or shuffle on-first 10 songs that play

I-Pod?  I-Pod?  Do I even have one?  Wait a minute, I'm thinking .... is that what you call the handy little device Heather gave me before she left for Africa?  The one she filled with music so when I missed her I could just listen to the music and remember her?

Oh, yeah .. I remember now.  That was an I-Pod.  Hey, everyone, I thought I didn't own one so I could get out of this day's challenge.  But guess you weren't so lucky.

Now, where did I leave it?  I haven't used it for a while, you see.  I can't use it at work, can't use it at home, can't use it while driving the car, but I did use to take it with me when I went to exercise and always took it with me on the airplane.

So, I go rummaging through my bag I last took on the plane, and there, buried underneath all the things I only use when I travel (so I don't unpack them) there sat my lonely little I-Pod.  Out of battery.  Dead as a door knob (or door bell - which ours happens to be).

Ok, so I have an expired I-Pod.  Now, where did I leave the charge chord?  With all the dozens of charging chords hanging around our place, you'd think one of them would work, wouldn't you?  Well, the last one I found fit.  (Why ever is it always the last one?)  So I finally got it all together and plugged it in and charged it, and now, finally, at the end of the day, am at long last ready to play "shuffle."

Oops.  I've never put it on shuffle.  There's a reason for that, you'll see. But, so now I had to figure out how to even get it to do the shuffle thing.  I fiddle.  I faddle.  And finally my I-POD can do the I-Poddle Shuffle....

And these are the first ten songs, in order, that the shuffle throws me:
1.  "Find Your Grail"  (Heather put it on, not sure what it's from or who the artist is)
2.  "First Snow"  (Trans-Siberian Orchestra)
3.  "Russian Dance"  (Narada Nutcracker)
4.  "Chiquitita"  (ABBA)
5.  "Jesus, Jesus, Rest Your Head"  (Mormon Tabernacle Choir)
6.  "Gaston"  (Beauty and the Beast)
7.  "I Wonder What My People are Thinking Tonight"  (Camelot)
8.  "Track 22"  (Ragtime)  - yeah, I know, I was supposed to input title names
9.  "Fancy Dress"  (Drowsy Chaperon)
10."Now that I've seen Her"  (Miss Saigon)

Now you see why I never put it on shuffle.  Most of the music I have on it is actually music from Broadway musicals.  You can't just listen to that music without hearing it in sequence with the rest of the songs from the show.  Shuffle just doesn't work.  Oh, and most of the rest of the music on it right now is Christmas music.   Now, if I can just figure out how to turn shuffle back off....

And this was supposed to be an easy one....

I really don't have an ipod, so you are ahead of me on that trend. A couple years ago, they gave one away at Seth's work as a prize and everyone already had one except for Seth, so he won it by default. He keeps it at work. I don't have one and don't even know how to use one. I am so far behind the curve. But, I am happy to see that your ipod shuffled you at least one Miss Saigon song. You are right though...once you get into a musical you have to go inside every song. Good luck getting it off of shuffle.

Julie, I am surprised you don't have one as much as you enjoy music. What I'm discovering is that the world is really turning digital. It's hard to even find CD players anymore. Everything has an IPod docker. Sometimes I feel like the information age is shooting forward and leaving me behind in the dust! That makes me feel old.

And I love Miss Saigon. Actually loved it even more after seeing it on stage. What a heartbreaking story.

My shuffle sits on my treadmill and was dead too--guess that shows how much the treadmill and ipod both get used!
