A Letter to Your Parents
| Leland and Norma Hansen - August 2010 |
Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you.
I know I've said it before, but I think it bears repeating time and time again. I cannot thank you enough.
Thanks for all the sacrifice, the love, the special times, and the not so special times - even the 'clean up your room' days and the 'no, you cannot do it' days (actually, I should say especially those days). Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Because of you, I grew up in a home where love was an action word.
Because of you, I was taught about God and about Jesus and about Joseph Smith.
Because of you, I was taught to love this great nation we live in and to honor and obey the laws - spiritual and civic.
Because of you, I learned the importance of learning.
Because of you, I was nourished all my life with self-respect and confidence.
Thank you for always being there, for listening, for teaching, and for caring for me and my five brothers and sisters. We were, we are, and we always will be an eternal family.
I love you. I could never repay you for what you've done for me. All I can do is try and pay it forward, to give my children and grandchildren the same kind of love and care that you gave us.
Thank you for everything!
Julie 'Bug'

It isn't 'til we are older that we realize how much influence our parents have had on us. I like that we keep learning the older we get also!
You seem to be doing a great job paying it forward. I am sure your folks are proud.
I'm too teary-eyed, or is it bleary-eyed ( I haven't slept again!!) to make sensible comments.
But once more you've really touched my heart!!
