Toe Tapping Dance Review

Maddy in her costume and make-up for her dance review.
So this is our Maddy, Mike and Makinzee's oldest, and she had her very first Dance Recital last Saturday.  It was a huge recital with, according to Kinzee, over 500 dancers.  Needless to say, each group had to go on and perform right on schedule.  The only thing they really didn't plan for was the extra parking spaces all the family members would need.  So we were hovering in the parking lot looking for a slot to stick the car, and it was getting nearer and nearer to her turn.  We slipped into the very dark auditorium just as her group moved on stage.  Whew!

And Brent caught this version on his camera.  Look for Maddy coming up out of the box on the left side of the stage in the beginning.

All the time he and Mike were videotaping, I was fumbling through my camera bag to find the big lens in the dark, while desperately trying to watch Maddy.  I missed.  But that's okay.  It was a dance, after all.  The best media is a video for sure!  (Oh, and this is only the last part of the dance - Brent was fumbling with the video camera as well.)

We went to Maddy's house after for rootbeer floats, and I did get some pictures there.  I think one of my favorite hobbies is photographing my grandchildren!  Click this link for More Pictures.

I really can just watch this over and over and over again! And it's really not that entertaining, but it's fun to watch.

I tried uploading a higher resolution version, but blogger dumbed it down, too. We'll have to get you a copy of the HD version. It's definitely better. It's fun to watch each of the girls and remembering feeling just like them and thinking I was the only one in the world who wasn't in step - but in reality just about everyone is out of step. There's a moral to that, I think. Somewhere. If not, I'm sure I could come up with one (tongue in cheek).
