Day 27 ... good question...

30 Day Challenge, Day 27
Why you are doing this 30 day challenge?

Good question ... one I've had to ask myself every morning for 27 now, as I try to answer each day's new post.  I think, however, that my decision to jump in stems back to my high school years when my older brother Arnie came home one day and described the assignment he was given to write about for his English class.  I was, believe it or not, jealous of him because his assigned topics were wild and fun and different. I can't remember his topic, but I do remember aching to give my hand at writing about it.   I never had a teacher do that, ever.  Even in college English 1, the assignments I received were predictable and orthodox through and through (how many times can one student describe their summer vacation?).

So I looked at the list of topics for this challenge and something inside me said, "Julie, you've just got to do this." Not that they are super unusual but the fact that so many of them really didn't fit within my comfort zone. Really, the topics were probably more designed for a little more youthful set of bloggers, so it's been a little stretch for me to do this, and do it every day.  But it's been a fun challenge for me, one where I've really had to reach down deep inside on a few of the topics (like the contents of my purse), and face who I am and accept me the way I am. Other topics have encouraged me to reach into my past and re-connect with my goals and my friends and my total self, past, present, and future.

Thanks, Makinzee, for sharing this with me, and thanks to those who have picked up on the challenge from my blog and are continuing it on their own.  It's been so fun to see your ideas on the same subjects!  Everyone has such a unique way of tackling each question.

I've had fun doubling up on both... You'll have to find another challenge to keep the momentum going. Or, you can scan all those old photographs you've been hiding and share your memories about them. ;)
